After having assembled a few planes at 1/48 ° I wanted to try the tanks of the Second World War at 1/35 °.
I started this editing shortly before a motorcycle accident by going to my work which turned my life upside down. I have been a biker since 1993, I rode in all weathers, daily and I stupidly fell in bad weather at 20 km / h. I had my right shoulder, humerus and collarbone crushed. After a few surgeries and complications, here I am with a shoulder and humerus in titanium and cobalt chrome (Like A Dassault rafale landing gear... 😁😁).
I am not complaining about my fate, there are much worse on earth, but that explains the infinitely long time that I took this assembly as well as others.
The Panther comes to the stage of painting and staging on a diorama, which I have never done so far. I will try to do the best and apply myself to achieve something simple and visually correct.

Nice Panther 🙂
Do not worry about speed, what counts is to enjoy building it and enjoy when it is done

I'm interested to see how the decals go on to that zimmerit. I have the Ausf. G in my stash.

Many thanks Alan and John.
I don't know yet if I'm going to use decals or if I'm going to paint the markings, but I'm sure of one thing, if I use decals, I'll need softeners like Micro set and especially Micro sol, due to roughness of the Zimmerit.
I am currently very busy with my job, but as soon as I have availability, I will get back to work. I will post the progress on my Panther. 😉

I would personally paint them but that is because i'm lazy 🙂

I also prefer painting, but this is my first armored vehicle model since I took over, so I need to learn about the various painting and weathering techniques before I can be sure what to do next.

Hello,

Beginning of the application of camouflage colors. I'm going to go back to some areas with the base color and highlight the green and redd brown.

Many thanks to you Alan and Simon.
That's the first time i make a camo on a Tank or Vehicule. I like it. For the following painting and weathering steps, I will study the processes to avoid making a mistak

Well, I like your work on this cat. 👍 Keep it comming.
Smash a humerus and collarbone at 20 is pure bad luke. I hope it's all ok now.
I used to Ride motorcycles since 6 years old, lot's of crashes and breaked bonés but the last One with now my wife when She was my girl friend was the end to my motorcycles. Love it but, dangerous when you like to lean hard on curves.
P.s. and yes I also had a metal plate on my right collarbone, but it was afterwards removed.
Best wishes, also for your good looking cat 😉

Many thanks Rui S.
Regarding my shoulder, I have a complete shoulder and humerus prosthesis, the installation of which required the removal of 70% of the tendons from the upper arm.
no more boxing, rugby and motorcycling. I make models... 😊😉

After lightening the undercarriage bolts and nuts, I applied a coat of Tamiya X-22 gloss clearcoat in preparation for the decals and weathering.

Excellent my friend, good work. Now you'll have to work on details 😉

I applied the 'Echelon' decals.
To integrate them into the Zimmerit, I used Micro Sol, a scalpel with a new blade and tapped with a cotton swab. I let it dry, and after the next coat of varnish, I will start weathering.

Looks like the decals have conformed nicely Hugh. Never tried 'Echelon' ones before. Are they nice and thin?
13 February 2022, 23:02
Hugh CAST.
Yes Allan. Echelon decals are of very good quality and they react very well to softeners such as Micro Sol.

G'Day!
I made small scratches with base color, reinforced, in places, with Chipping color from Mig.
Then I applied Pin washes and Filters with artist oils and Mig Filter for tritonnal camo.
Next steps, the exhaust pipes, the tools, the tracks and finally the weathering.
Have a nice weekend.

I've painted the spare tracks. I wanted them to have different shade of oxydation. One pair is almost recent and the others are used. I hope the result is convincing.

I started something that I never practiced. Put mud on a model I've just painted...
Beginning of weathering by the underbody and the metal Master club tracks. I really liked the system for fixing the links using the two resin lugs. It's quite long to install, but I prefer that to the metal wire portions of the Friul type tracks.

For these tracks, I primed them with a dark rust color followed by a passage of "Buff" and Deck Tan. Finally a Track Wash juice. I will finish with pigments, pastel powder and sanding of the rubbing areas.

For the beginning of the underbody clogging which will be quite light in the end, I made a mixture of bicarbonate, very fine gravel from railway decorations, crushed dry grass, desert dust, dry earth and dust pigments.
I will continue with washes, pigments, additions of plant waste, "splashes" and finally, fluid drips, as well as other miscellaneous stains.

Beautiful paintwork as well! Will you also make a diorama for this?
25 March 2022, 06:30
Hugh CAST.
Many thanks Mathias. I bought this Jig few weeks ago. Vehicles Jig (ZEP System MSJ05, No)
I am very satisfied with it.
I've never made a diorama, however I would like to try to make a simple little scene, to start.

Niiice, well I found out, if you know where to find the right materials and what they can be used for, you can make about anything. I learned a lot from
1. Laser creation world (even though I don't have a 3D printer) : Youtube Video 2. Nightshift: Youtube Video,
3. CW Modeling and
Andy's hobby headquarters is also interesting.

Hello Alan. I've had a few health issues that have bothered me for the past few months. Nothing serious in the end. I think I'll get back to it in the next few days, when it's less hot...

Thanks for replying Hugh. Take your time and come back when ready to. Your health comes WAYYYYY before my whining about a stalled build 🙂

Hello,
After a long break I got back to work on this Panther.
Underbody and undercarriage weathering, including tracks.
There are still some accessories to install, such as buckets, jerrycan, towing cable and to retouch the tools on the left side, the metal aspect of which is too pronounced.
Finally, I will finish the weathering with an HB pencil on the different edges and the tracks. I will also try to paint my first figurine and make a small presentation base.
