Album info USS Montana (BB-67) from 2017 kit by Very Fire (1/700).
Depicts USS MONTANA (BB-67) as designed, July 1942.
The name Montana was assigned to BB-67 on 28 December 1940; but construction of the Montana class (BB-67/71) was canceled 21 July 1943, before her keel was laid by Philadelphia Navy Yard.
This excellent kit from a new manufacturer was very complete, with PE railings and accessories, wood decking, and blackened anchor chain all included. Build is out of the box with minor enhancements:
- Scratched display base and acrylic case
- Scout aircraft replaced with Curtiss SC Seahawk
- Minor alterations (e.g. brass, aluminium rod to replace masts, etc.)
