Thank you Robin!
Seafire XVII is slowly taking shape - which is quite attractive! Nothing is sanded yet, but some of the etched parts for the folding wings are already attached.

Taking a seat! 😉 Looking really nice! 👍
I'm gonna build a Seafire some day, so I'll look and learn! 🙂

In addition to "Sky" on the underside, the two topside colours are now applied. The mixing was done strictly according to the instructions, but I am surprised by the small difference in contrast between the two colours. Perhaps this is also enhanced by the high-gloss surface.
The exhaust ports were drilled out - a simple but effective measure!

The Seafire is slowly turning into the home straight; however, there is still work to be done on the folding mechanisms and a considerable number of smaller details.

Now she is finally finished: the Seafire XVII from Airfix was quite a fun to build. As a point of criticism one has to mention the somewhat washed out shapes - in general as well as in detail -, on the other hand a really generously equipped model can be built in a comfortable way. Regarding the equipment: the folding mechanism or its representation in etched parts comes from the Eduard set for this; this is really to be recommended!
Thank you for your interest and your helpful comments, I hope you like the pictures!

Thank you all very much for these motivating comments. I am very pleased that the Seafire is well received!
Well, a new Supermarine project that is going to be on deck planks has started: Trumpeter's Attacker will be next.

Well done Roland. With the wings folded you can fit more of these subjects on your shelf 🙂.

David, Nathan, I say thank you for your remarks mates! Indeed, even more: I can reduce the height of the shelves to the low dimension of the British aircraft carriers! 🙂

I have now found a suitable background - a British carrier deck of the "Colossus class" from the early fifties. It makes the Seafire from St. Merryn look more authentic! With these pictures I can now really close the project - clear the stage for the Supermarine Attacker!
