Interesting take on adding the YF-22 vertical thrust vectoring nozzle to an F-35. The shading on the ram panels does a good job of breaking up the monotone halve glass paint

Thanks, mate!
This would be a land-based, air defense dedicated variant of the F-35. The 2D TVC nozzle would help with maneuverability for WVR combat and also decrease IR signature.
I know that the wingtip missiles would increase the radar cross section so it would be less stealthy but maybe redesigned rails like they have under the wing for the AIM-9X could be less detrimental. I put them there because i think they look cool... but the extra pair of missiles would be a good addition for when stealth isn't a concern, though...
The color i used for the RAM tape isn't accurate but i just don't like to see them contrasting too much with the main color so i chose a darker grey to keep them less evident.
BTW, there are rumours that the PoAF will indeed buy F-35As in 2030 when they retire the F-16 fleet... 😉

I hope the F-35 lives up to all all these F-35 purchases!

I believe it already is. It's the most advanced fighter in service and the capability it has is a game changer. Does it still have issues? Yes, like many other aircraft had in the past and still do. With so many countries putting their eggs in the F-35 basket, Lockheed Martin have to get the issues fixed, no matter what it takes.
It will be interesting to see what the new fighters currently in development will change when they're ready for service.
