Tamiya Zündapp KS750 1:35. Motorider

This is one of the different looks that can be found for the WW2 German Rubberized Motorcycle Overcoat Kradmantel Some times it can be found with a more greyish color, some others tend to a greenish grey, but all them, being rubberized, have a ligth satin finish that should be present in the model motorider. 

The kit figure is not of the best quality, as can be seen. 

The left eye is specially deformed. This figure in the set is represented using goggles, also included, but goggles are by far unrealistic, so I decided to use them set in the helmet. 

Poor detail can be seen in this and the next photos. 

 

 

First coats with green in order to get that greenish gray. 

 

 

After a layer of gray, the presence of the green is too subtle. 

Some model details start to be appreciated as layers of color are added. 

Note that the boot soles are too flat, some filing work is necessary to form the boot heels. 

 

 

As coats advance, more detail of lights and shades can be seen.
 

 

 

The Kar98k was painted with a too flat brown and a too bright black. After applying a diluted matt varnish coat, brown and black improved a lot (not shown in this photo). 

A black belt was added to the helmet in order to improve the final result. 

 

 

As expected with such ugly guy the result couldn't be a wonder, but it seems quite decent. 

 

Time to paint the arms prior to fit them to the pilot. Though more tedious, I chose first painting them and then putting all together with the motorider on the bike to get the best bike-rider fitting.
