This was and still is my project of the Scalemats meeting on Wangerooge. Since I'm not familiar with etching parts, I used the chance to have experts around in case something goes wrong. A full week hard-core modelling, but it's still not finished.

Hi girls and guys,
just back from our 1st Annual Scalemates Meeting! It was a wonderful week, which I will surely not forget. THANKS TO HOLGER FOR THE ORGANIZATION. EVERYTHING WAS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!
I'm already looking forward to the 2nd Annual Scalemates Meeting.
Photos will follow later this week.

Frank, I like what you have done so far. How was the build so far? I like the look of the 251. Plus there are all kinds of variants.

Hi Roy,
glad you like it.
Mmmh, how was it so far? A mix of up and downs. The details of the base kit are quite ok. As far as I know the 1:35 Zvezda 251s are the only ones, which have the engine included.
The fit is not perfect, but nothing what a average experienced modeller couldn't handle. The lower body parts are difficult to put them into right position. The holes of all wheels were too small. I had to drill them out one by one. The tracks are supposed to be workable, but you have to rework each track-link to achieve this.
The Eduard etching set contains everything for better details. It took a while, but even I as a virgin using etching parts got used to it.
