Here's my first full repaint of a High Grade Gundam kit - the EMS-10 Zudah. Featured in the (not great) MS IGLOO series, this is still a great looking mobile suit. But the kit itself comes in a wild Baby Blue and Purple color scheme and I was just not feeling it, so time for a full repaint. Although this suit was primarily developed for space combat (hence the giant booster nozzle), I decided to repaint this in an Earth combat scheme, as if it had made reentry and now fought with the Zeon Remnant forces dirtside.

The kit itself is pretty basic and I decided to add some more panel details, especially on the torso, using plasticard. I also wanted to give this guy a weapon swap, so I changed out the hands and gun from an HG Zaku F2. This is mostly painted using Tamiya acrylics, though I did use Vallejo for details and chipping.

The heated metal effects are done using Turbo Dork Miami Sunset. The trick to achieve proper transitions is to paint extremely diluted layers. Begin where you want the effect most prominent and work outward in sections to where you want it less noticeable. This builds the metallic particles up more and more and provides smoother layering.

While I'm not super happy with this build, I liked the build and finished product of my last Zaku much more, this was still a fun experiment.
