Thanks gary for your idea to use buff. I can see a difference but it's barely noticeable in the photos.
Maybe I should use more buff but I'll wait and see what the whole scene looks like with resin water and water lilies.

Thank you! It was fun. First time I had messed much with doing my own 3D stuff. It is not perfect and I learned a ton but will give people something to look at when the front hatches are open in the diorama. Will definitely do more of this! Thanks for looking!

It is getting a base. The real one was found on a beach which some parts were found around it. It will be something like that. Going to start up on my next project and throw in a base for this one to break that up.

@Clair Greenwood. The Kit goes together really well. You don't need the extra photoetch that they sell, you hardly use any of it. There is a fret along with the kit that does everything you need. I have a couple other of their Ha-Gos and I'm pretty excited about building additional ones!

I saw the first photo with metal finish and mistakenly thought this was finally someone posting a metal foil project. 🙂

I want to use metal foil, but so far haven't tried it. I think I've learned that, just like putting on a metal finish with airbrush, every tiny blemish standing out if the surface isn't smooth, the same with metal foil I think. Any dent or scratch will eventually show up in the foil as a blemish I think.

Q: When you airbrush on metallic paint, do you airbrush it wet-in-wet, or multiple very thin layers of "dry" metallic paint?
