Guy RumpThe next project will be this old tool Italeri Horsa glider. My first glider, so here's hoping it will be a good experience. 🙂

Guy RumpMade a start today. First thing to do was decide if a MK.1 or Mk.2 was to be built. I've decided on the Mk.1 so I had to cut out the parts as shown in the photo. 🙂

Guy RumpToday I finally completed the cockpit and fitted the cargo door into the fuselage. 🙂

Guy RumpCockpit, fuselage & tailplane now altogether. Tail was difficult to get together, Added 5g of weight to the nose and 15g of weight to the front of the fuselage. 🙂

Guy RumpWings now together. I intend painting the wings before attaching to the fuselage. Hurricane added to show the size of the glider. 🙂

Guy RumpDid the upperside of the wings with Vallejo Model Air Dark Earth and Dark Green. Invasion stripes to be added next. 🙂

Neil PatrickI built this about 20 years ago Guy as a gift for a WW2 Horsa pilot who was a friend of my wife's family. He'd flown Horsas into Normandy and Arnhem. He loved the model and it sat in his living room for the rest of his days. It's a nice kit as I recall.

Guy RumpInvasion stripes are now on the wings. Next is to start painting the invasion stripes on the fuselage. 🙂
@ Neil, it is quite a nice kit considering its age. The fact that you gifted a Horsa model to an actual Horsa pilot veteran is something that must have been hugely gratifying. 👍

Guy RumpFuselage painted Dark Earth, BS Dark Green and black including invasion stripes. Gap is for where the wings are added. 🙂
