I think I found what's going wrong lately. I usually prime with mr surfacer thinned with self-levelling thinner. Because I'm using Zeropaints now and then, which is quite hot, I used 2k primer. Even after a quick sanding, the 2k primer remains rough. I judged didn't sand my primer enough, which showed in the base coats and subsequent gloss coats.

Attempt #2 went much better. After a lot of masking work, I sprayed Zeropaints Pagani Huayara red over the black for a deep red.

She is unmasked!
And also a bit of carbon decals added. First time cutting these things to size from a large piece. That is hard to do!

What would we be without our beloved Tamiya tape! Your son made a good decision and you a great paint job 👍

Good evening gentlemen. Thank you for your patience while waiting for an update. In the last two weeks I finished the carbon decals. What a ***** jub that is on al the curved pieces. Then it was time for some more paint and the 2k clear. Apparently spraying the 2k at just over 1 bar pressure led to my issues. Just under 2 bar is better, but not enough. I'll try 2,5 bar on a future project.
That led to some sanding and the polishing. Still not perfect, but getting closer. 😄

Oh yes, to build such cars needs much different skills. Those glossy paintings are not easy but you managed it 👍

So Martin just raised the bar.
Now we have to build glass models!
That's a frigging Wicked paint job! I'd better stick to Matt Black and Camo 😉

Welcome my friends!
As Peter won't allow me to finish the car body as it is, I did some work on the interior. First time ever with these seat belts. It is a bit fiddly (probably not for Lode) but I love the end result. 😄
The body has been sanded and polished and Honest Peter gave me a stern telling too. Well deserved I might add. So whenever my mood is there, I will add a few extra layers of 2k clear to get it even better.
THANK YOU Peter! 👍

The ends of the hardware on the shoulder straps should bend to 45°. You are a better man than I. I just have no patience for doing harnesses anymore.....YUCK!

I sprayed some extra 2k last week, less peel but stille some. It took only 8 hours of wet sanding with a 4000 grit cloth to get rid of most of the peel.
Polishing is next
