Nice and useful work.
I use plans with caution, for overall shapes as you did, but i once saw that plans were not as accurate as more people believe : it was about Ju 87B...
For small details, i rely on pictures.
I kept a single RS Models P-39 kit, the right choice regarding your analysis ! 😉

Thanks guys - canopies on and interior frames painted today, also got the .50 gun pods on each - Academy and Arma are both too small and too narrow if anyone uses them. More pictures after first upper color coats

Album info
3 P-39Qs of the 15th FG, 46th FS, while stationed on Canton (Kanton) Atoll from March to December 1943. Originally painted in OD over grey, the planes were quite obvious against the coral strip. Much debate over the years about colors used - I will be going with a washed out Sand 26 or Sand 49 as the well researched ARMA site
- armahobbynews.pl/en/..ral-aircobras-70055/ - states, though still without a definitive answer. Probably never will be as this was such along time ago and for such a short stint!
Comparing three different kits as I go -
