Herci-wip

On the Austrian Hercis there is an odd mount or bracket right in front of the side doors. I don´t know what´s it´s purpose, think it´s a heritage from their early days in RAF service and not in use anymore. 

 

 

Not perfect but better than not doing this detail. 

The fuselage is closed, everything fits almost perfectly. 

 

 

 

 

Next step are the cockpit windows.  

As I mentioned before, this is a commission build and the future owner of the Herci wanted the name of his wife on the airframe, because it will be a gift for her. Neither he nor me were sure it will look good, so I decided to give the flight engineer a special task, holding up a sign with the name. 

Just a picture to prove that the Hercules is not that big... 😉 

First layer of primer shows some steps and gaps between the fuselage and clear parts. These are the first little fit issues, the rest fits nearly perfect. 

Nearly four hours of masking and painting to get the four props together. Decals and the final clear coat are still missing. 

Very nice fit also on the engine nacelles. 

Props are finished now. 

Final color is on, started with a layer Tamiya Fine Primer L and some preshading with Tamiya xf-1, final color was Gunze H306.

After joining the fuselage and the wings(with only few touch ups around the joints), decals was done. 

Looks nearly finished.
