At dawn on 31 May, a lone Potez 540 "D" flown by the Czechoslovak pilot Jan Ferak, bombed Palma de Mallorca, causing about ten dead an about thirty wounded. On the return flight it was intercepted at 4000m over the sea by Capitano Giuseppe D'Agostinis, whom hit it with several bursts and set the left engine on fire. The bomber turned towards Mallorca and crashed near Andraitx.

This is the little story of this plane, have fun with the pictures

One of the rare seen models! When seen then almost in box reviews! 🙂
Nice to see this huge and ähem, extraordinary warbird finished! I could examine ones a nice build model at the Paris expo 1998. It was built in a emergency landing scene!
And now your brilliant finished model!
Some nice walkaround pictures could be found in the old but goody Replic magazine! I have them all!

Thanks mates for the nice comment, I'm really surprised about the fitting of this old kit, when I must give point on a scale to 10 it became a 8 for fitting, detail that's another story, it's a rare model but that make it special. Greetz Phil

Album info

This is my new project, I had this kit in my stash for a long time and wanted to do something with it, after a little resurch on the internet I found some pictures and history from the Potez 540 in service at the Civil war of Spain, the plane is from France origine and build in 1933. This is an old FROG kit (reboxed Heller) so there is a lot of work on it
