Thanks for the kind words, guys. I really loved to build this plane in spite of some issues. It's so gracious, majectic almost.

I've seen some impressive Italian camo schemes over the years, but this has got to be No1. I've tried schemes that are nowhere near as busy as yours, but they ended up a blurred mess! 🙁

What a lovely build with an excellent paint job! Regia Aeronautica really had the best camouflage patterns during WWII. It's always nice to se a build of an Italian plane or tank as well as they're so cute...

Right you are, RedRoo! After an hour of painting I could see only blotches for a while and even thought my wife had grown freckles while I was at work... I'm glad you enjoy this one. The good news is that after years I finally found the monoderiva-version of this beautiful plane and I plan to build the versionm that participated in the battle of Britain from an airbase in Belgium, doing reconnaissance-work and devoid flights. I built this one for a Dutch GB on the Regia Aeronautica Italiana. Here is the gallery of that GB: modelbrouwers.nl/php..hp?f=212&t=39842

@Soeren: it was a long job that asked the maximum of my patience and persistance, but I will do it again, as I love Italian planes for their camoschemes. First I painted the complete upperside of the plane Italian sandbrown.
Then I used a very small/thin brush and made tiny little specks of dark olive green all over the plane. I had thinned the paint well before I started. When everything had dried well I used the same brush to change the tiny spots into blotches, imitating the leaf pattern. This took me a week, for I could only do this for an hour. Finally I painted a lesser amount of Italian brown blotches. The paintwork was sealed by a layer of gloss varnish. After applying teh decals I b rushed a layer of matt varnish and than the job was done. Maybe I will use Q-tips the next time, but I will have to experiment first with that. Don't wanna spoil my second Alcione 😉
