I tried to ask another question, but, probaly I did something wrong. So, here is my 2nd. question 2nd. time:
"Hi guys,
sorry for bothering you in Christmas time: con anybody explain me purpose of this "additional" exhausting? It is visible on some great models, but I can´t see it on real pictures, and there is instruction "to cut it out" in my building manual. So, I´m confused and don´t know, what to do.

Hi guys,
I´ve got an answer on another modelling forum:
"It´s muffler of additional generator for movement of turret. But first 1367 tanks was produced without it."

So I am wondering here if the information from the other forums is correct.
As far as I know the M41 only had a hand control for moving the turret. So there was no engine needed for that and no additional exhausting.

M43a3 had an auxiliary motor to turn the turret. Previous versions had this retrofitted

Well, there was also information, all A3 versions were done with this additional muffler. There was only a difference in positon of it, because some crews move it to the front part of tank. The reason was damaging of additional muffler by the heat of "main" muffler. So.... 😮 🙂

Good evening! I´ve been working on my model during last weeks, but now I´m stucked with the mantlet on a barrel. Besides really nice details also ugly molding lines are very visible on it. (See pictures).I´ve tried to file it as well, as use my hobby knife for cut it out, but it doesn´t work (material of mantlet is soft rubber). Can anybody advice, please, how to deal with it? Thank you very much!

There are a few options I´d try. Test everything on a sample frist.
You can either try to soften it with some paint thinner (try differnt ones aswell), or fill it with some kind of liquid putty. (I´d recomend the later one.) If that doesn´t work you could try lightly heat the seam with a lighter. It works for example on DS, if you´re carefull and only have a short "exposure time". Otherwise you will burn it.😉

Thank you. I´m afraid, to fill it with putty is not possible, because "seams" are above the surface, not under it. And sorry, but what does it mean "DS" - I´m not very good in abbrevs. 😮 🙂

Right, they are above the surface, but you can still "fill" the "gap" between the top of the seam and the surface. In ther words you could rise the surface to the top of the seam.😉
DS is the brand name of Dragons soft plastic, it´s some kind of mix mateial, basically vinyl which really can be glued with the standard plastic glue.
