Building.
Bare tube with cut off plastic details. Some metal parts on the oute electronics though.
Left side - not really much details go here.
By all means the cockpit is too small and a little out of scale. But it looks quite nice.
Pilot's side consoles.
Cockpit tub. I was worried it will be too "flat" but coloured parts look reasonably busy.
After closing it up and painting - it'll make a good impression of the pilot's workspace. Though still - Revell didn't nail it.
Side view. Coloured parts are a nice touch, though it's a little tricky to blend it all together.
Ejection seat with PE applied.
Wheel wells glued in. They look busy enough.
Angled inside view ith some PE plates.
Front wheel well similar to Italeri one. But a great + for perfect fit to both fuselage halves.
Main wells. As it can be seen - kit parts are somewhat bare.
To be honest - there's really not much visible apart from the PE parts...
Pylons undersides also with PE parts.
PE rails added to the wing tips.
Upper wings added along with the nose tip. Some last sandings required and then - rescribing panel lines.
All gaps were filled with CA glue - it now only needs some minor polishing and then upper wings will go.
Main modules are ready - front and rear fuselage + bottom with wings. Although a new tool I find the Revell's fitting far from good.
Slowly getting the main shape done.
Wheels and main gear struts. Those bigger are the supplied, those smaller are Eduard's Brassin. Again a quick, simple upgrade which adds to the model. Also - notice the ugly dent on the kit's wheel.
Main gear covers with some etching.
So far so good. All antennas and Pitots are in place.
But the main tube was a challenge indeed.
Tail tube was tricky, but sits nicely.
I'm just waiting for the Aires engine to arrive, so I can glue the engine's ring and it's ready to be primed.
I wanted to use the kit's AIM-9L, the looked OK on a sprue, but it turned out that the fit is poor and well... Just look at the Eduard's resin ones.
Great details, easy assembly - those AIMs will save me a lot of time.

Thanks a lot to everyone so far! 🙂
Although it is indeed surprising to find what fits and what doesn't, there are no flaws that requres major conversions, so it only needs some filling and sanding.
I hope in a couple of days I will have the fuselage all ready for adding rest of the detaila 🙂

Album info
As the kit is quite convienently divided into three sections (nose, tail and mid/wings) I can concentrate on smallr areas one at a time.
So far it's all quite good, though I have serious doubts about the inner measurements...
