Yeah, it looks pretty good. But the tracks look "Hell-ish" enough... Is there a single Heller kit that has acceptable tracks?

Yeah, Heller is mediocre quality at best. Shame, they have subject matter you can't find anywhere else.

I can remember building the personel carrier variant in the 70ties. In general not a bad kit. Made it for a friend who was a driver on this AMX during his service in the Dutch army. The tracks where indeed flexible as T-wraps.

Sorry for taking so long to answer! I just viewed my album. I used Model Master Acrilics and Polly S paints. For the colors I made a mix to match the colors based on pictures of this Argentinian vehicle.
