Junkers W-34 Eurasia
Some parts and the plane.
the cabin with the added passenger section (and a new pilot)
very little can be seen from "my" cabin in the finished plane
surface detail is very nice, but still more filing and filling to do
OKish, but still some work to do. I have to open the cabin window to have pilot guy waving out of the window
Decals (my Chinese colleague transcribed them to me so that I could print them out on transparent decal paper)
decals applied (50%), a bit of silvering...
...but generally I am happy...
...also with the close fit...
That last layer of gloss varnish was definitely a mistake...
...as suddenly the decals clearly stick out again...
...while before they looked fine (and still do at the underside) but not now 🙁
The ladders are from Brendan sets...
...one supposedly for the passengers to exit...
...one for the mechanic to work on the engine (I have yet to convince my decals to cooperate...)
the carriage and the fountain look a bit more realistic now...
...and, no, the horse is not floating in the air, it'S an illusion caused by the glass plate in the frame...
Terminal
NIngsia / Ningxia / Ninsia
The diorama is basically flat with no elevation whatsoever...
...but I guess most airfields will be like that 🙂
I've been busy for a while but finally I was able to continue...
...adding some figures, the refueling cart, the dog (well, that's from NOCH)...
...barrels (what could be in the one labelled "XXX"? 🙂...
...I like my figures in 1:72 better than my 1:35 (which I never get right)...
...only the Chinese pilots and a photographer are missing now, before I call it quits.
Complete! Hooray!

Nice! 👍
What do You think about this kit? Build the military version and it was much work.

I think the kit is OK (being the only one for this aircraft widely available right now - if I am not mistaken), but let's say that I could have easily spent more time on puttying (is that a word?), filing, making new stuff...

Ok! 🙂 Wir können ja auch auf Deutsch komunizieren. 🙂 Man muß halt viel spachten, meine ich. Ist halt short run. Ich mag diese Dinger aber.

So glad to see this resurfacing, one of my favourites here in SCM - great job on a fantastic subject!

Interesting story, will be a smallish diorama with a landed and unloaded Junkers W-34 right in the middle of Chinese nowhere land 🙂
