That looks really nice. So sorry to hear the enamel vs plastic nightmare! looks like it got through pretty well.
Thanks for the nice comments
Yes, there are some things that could have been done better, but I am happy with it. But so I was with what I build years ago, and I can tell you if I post a picture of those, I risk being banned from the site :-D
I love the fact that you can see where it could be improved even though you did a great job on this, which is probably why you are good modeller !😉 😄
Looking forward to more from you bud 🙂
thanks Choppa, i will do my best 🙂 i wish i could have more free time for my models, but who doesn't?
thanks palytime. i actually need to find some wooden box so i can place it nicely.
ok, not i can consider it completed. i found a simple cheap wood box, cut part of it, use the spare wood to make the top adjust to the base of the model, and then painted in black and gave it a coat of Future (first time that i ever use it). it was a bit too think in some points, but it looks good to me, so i will leave as it is. i hope you like it.
Album info
ok, i learnt a few things on this one. specially that should have used a primer first 😛
wash started to react on the plastic, but only in the base of one of the lasers (the hole for the laser pole was «unprotected» and the wash reacted with Bandai's soft plastic)
I could have used less paint and add some bright varnish before using the washes, and maybe it would have ended up less ... «dark». but X-wings are usually dirty and «used», so it does not look that bad.
i only used decals on the head of R2-D2, Luke's helmet and the cockpit. maybe is should have used them in the body of R2-D2, but i wanted to see if could do it without them....
i added some detail to R2-D2, thank god there is two of them, so the details can be seen in the one outside, I would have hate not to ever see those details again after placing it in its tight space in the X-Wing
