Looks like a nice build. Seems to be a more and more glider kits being released.

Indeed it is Gordon.
Started masking of the thinner parts. The only job on this kit which is time consuming

Very nice Erik 👍
Seems like a nice little quick build, apart from the masking perhaps😉

Such masks seems to be a good idea. What is your base color under the masks?
27 April 2017, 18:36

I sprayed a base color in light grey. When masking is done I will spray the whole aircraft in Gunze 85, segel farbe. After I have removed the masks I will give the light grey parts a small filter of the same Gunze 85. Hope it will give the some sort the effect of thin parts...

Ok Erik, you got me with this one 🙂
nice bit of masking
I can imagine it being effective 🙂

It would be interesting what one could do with the wings etc. made from clear plastic for that translucent effect 🙂

Hmm, try this before! I don't like Gunze 85 Segelfarbe/sail color for such tasks. In my opinion Gunze Radome looks much better as linen.

Ok thanks for the heads up bughunter, have radome in the stash too. I have read somewhere that it actually should be RLM05, but not really sure about that.

The baby received it's coat of "canvas" Gunze aqeous 318.. The masks came of very easy, no paint has crawled under them and the light grey primer coat was not damaged so the quality is quite good👍. Now I will spray a light filter of the same Gunze 318, hopefully it will look like thin canvas on the light grey areas.

Good craftmannship! After seeing Stephans photo I would do the underside with a white primer, so that it imitates the light between the ribs. On the upside the ribs are brighter, from down they are darker.

Thanks mates! I did use a light grey primer Bughunter but I must admit that my pictures don't show how it looks for real. Think I need to adjust my camera setting.

maybe you can add a bit to the effect by using this method: see possible treatment of lozenge decals: uschivdr.com/downloads/

Decalling and small PE bits done! This one is ready for a satin clear coat.
