This is the most difficult part I have ever had to fit. So much had to be removed before it would even look like being part of the car. Hated it. !

This JUST fits, and that's all. Wanting to have more 'meat' on it to eliminate gaps, but the gaps are required I found out, as it moves freely while the car is in motion, being a quick access pannel.

Tucked away in there is a fire extinguisher with etched metal brackets and straps.

The skid bar under the nose cone is ill fitting and gaps all over the place. Filled with super glue and sanded back.

Bit and pieces are all coming together OK.

I painted the etched metal and added the decals, then cloaked them in clear fix glue to prevent the paint from lifting or cracking when bent into shape.

Nothing but the best here. Gold trim on the instrument bessils and a gold gear shift lever.

The center is an etched metal prancing stallion, but I covered it with a spare decal the same size and a dob of clear fix glue over the top. 'for effect'

I had a LOT of sanding and scraping to get this right.

The super glue did the job perfectly, making the join strong and helped with the conformity of the shape under the nose cone.

All this is gone except where needed for the shape to be right.

These small 'wings' went on like they were made for it. Just a gentle curve to fit the compound shape and a dab of super glue just flowed into place

I took a lot of time to make sure that all the positioning was exact and even and in 'perspective'. Nothing out of kilter, shape or position. All equal.

Not happy. The top of the frame on the right window is incomplete due to a fold /ripple. 🙁

Polishing with some wax will bring out that gleam I am after, but overall, it looks OK.

Placing this HUGE windshield without using regular glue. First, Tiny pieces of blu tac to hold, then some 'Clear fix' which will go hard and strong.

Clear fix is wter soluable, meaning, any excess can be disolved to reduce its appearance.

Methylayted spirits is what I am using here to disolve the canned paint I used through my air brush and I am NOT happy with it.

The errors I made in preperation are all too obvious now, as the red has seeped into all the sanding and scraping marks, highlighting ALL the screw up's I made.

One of the more painful and obvious is right on the front in the middle. And all across the front of the leading edge of the nose. Sloppy work on my part.

Every where your seeing red here is where I failed to polish out the sanding work I did on the mould seams., not wanting to remove the rivets.

Thank you all my friends. Being a Ferrari, it gives you the urge to 'put the foot down' hahahaha
As for the speed build, My gold winning six wheeled German G4 staff car took just a week and a half to complete. 👍, but most of that build was the bare metal foil.
But this build, because of the lack of parts and how most internal detail does not exist, it is like an Eduard 'week ender', easy to do and not complicated at all. But it has been a week and a bit so far, just not posted. 🙂.
Today, bare metal foil on all the light lense surrounds, (better than painting and looks twice as good).
But the side window BMF is am not happy with, as this batch just will not adhere like some I have had. 🙁

Mr Hickey, Thank you for your appreiatin of my work mate, and about the gear lever, I thought that it was wrong when I saw the slot for the gear shift, I checked the plans, looked at Google images and yup. They got it on the right side, or, if made for the US market, the left. ! ! ! :-/
@James, sitting on my desk is a pile of Fujumi kits with the word 'Ferrari' printed all over them. 👍 🙂 Those being 2 of the 250GTO, then 2 of the 330 P4, then the 1 (one) of the 240Gt, all of which I want to build in their different livery, that being, 2 with race numbers, and 3 stock.
@Martin, I have never had a stash, being the type who buys and then builds, with nothing for a rainy day, but, I have a swag of empty boxes to say that I am busy. hehehehe 🙂
I learned to 'speed build' when I was a foot loose male, drifting all over the place with all the different jobs I had after uni, and when I landed some place, I would grab anything that looked good at the time, banged it out and left it behind after I moved on, but now I am happily glued to one place, that speed thing has not completely left, but I have gained some great short cut's and skills that sees me gathering a collection I still sit contentedly in front of and reminisce. 🙂
BTW, I ALWAYS buy two of what ever I have a mind to build.

Marty, Kerry actually has a stash which he keeps a my place. He has a Kawasaki KR 500, a Casey Stoner 2006 Honda and a Sci Fi kit of his choice, an original Battlestar Galactica a 350 scale USS Enterprise or USS Reliant. I also have one more NS500 than I need. He may want to play around with that but has already built a couple.

I do remember putting away a couple of kits that stayed hidden for a long time, but when I went and built them, the decals shattered like a wind shield hit by a stone. This is the main reason I didn't stash too much. But now, your spoiled for choice when it comes to replacement decals, 👍

If ever I was pissed off with a paint job. It was this one. And after the paint was removed, you can see why. 🙁
I was trying to overcome all the sanding and scraping I did in my rush to have it finished, as they are all painfully obvious now and I have a hell of a job in front of me to get it back to something I can really work with, and not so much paint this time. 🙁
