I really like these 50s and 60s planes. A shame we don't get very much new offerings of them.
This one is becoming a real beauty Clifford.

Thank you very much James, Nathan and Martin. I went to start the decals, and they fell apart in the water, so I had to order new decals. AAAARRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!.

OMG. ! I hate to think of how many of these gems I had hanging from my bedroom ceiling when I was a lad. !!!
Never in my wildest dreams did I think they were meant to look like this. 👍
( if in doubt about any old decals surviving all those years. Just spray a diluted mix of liquid decal film over the decal sheet and all will be good.) 👍
Great memories. 👍

Thanks Keeza. I'm glad you like her. It is a far cry from the last one of these I built. When I was a lad also. I thought I had sprayed the decals, that is the first thing I do when I get an old kit like this. Anyway, I found a second sheet of the same markings in the decal stash, apparently I had bought another set off of E-Bay. Anyway she now is wearing most of her colors. Hopefully will finish the decals tomorrow and will post some more pictures.

Good to know Clifford. 👍
God. ! I must sound really old. !
But the first kit I ever had/destroyed was the vinyl bag version of the Red Barron's triple wing Fokker that melted into a sad pile of struts and saggy wheel struts, all from my eagerness to get the struts to hold the wings in place, yet the more tube glue I applied, the sadder it looked. hahahahahahaha
All wonderful times and memories I can assure you. 🙂

Thank you Maciej. My first kit was a Russian I-16, I don't remember who it was by, but I do remember I was 6 years old. I got it for Christmas. I can remember building a lot of Aurora kits, especially their BF-109 as it was molded in bright red plastic. I had the same problems, to much glue, fingerprints all over etc. Like you say the good old days. LOL.

Hello Clifford, nice Silver Arrow 🙂 I still have it in stock, but it is missing accessories and tools 🙁 if it should be time, then I will like to use as a template 👍

I'm with Michael, how did I miss this? Very nicely done Clifford, the metal finish really turned out great!

Thank you very much Holger and Donald. @Holger, Hawk was around in the late 50's and early 60's. That kit is almost as old as I am. Glad you guys like it.

Album info
I re-scribed the entire kit, and scratch built the main wheel wells, as the kit has none. Painted with Vajello's Metal Acrylics.
