I also covered the top half in tin foil to simulate the thrmal blanket around the real thing.

Yeah the foil covering is much better looking than painting. Look forward to seeing the solar panels mounted.

Thought it was kind of ironic while I was doing it. Most times when foil covering an aircraft, you want the foil as smooth as possible - wrinkles are your enemy! Here, I was crumpling up the foil, and trying hard not to flatten out the wrinkles too much while I was attaching the foil to the model - a complete reversal!

Scrapped version 1 of the scratch-built solar panels; I didn't like the way they turned out. I went with scratch-built solar panels v.2 - they turned out MUCH better.
