Hello Stefan, it was the same for me at the beginning!
The Lesher Teal was a homebuilt record-breaking aircraft. Edgar Lesher, a professional US aircraft designer, designed and built it in the early 1960s to break the world speed record for aircraft in this class. He succeeded, and the Teal was still being flown by him years later.

I'm always thankful for these obscure topics. I spent some time on Wikipedia the other night learning about Lesher and his aircraft. Thanks, Roland!

Hello Ben, that is encouraging, thank you! The following few pictures document a neat build, only the parts fit is not of the highest standard. Heavy filling and subsequent sanding is necessary, which I have prepared with filling the gaps with CA glue

Great job on a special kit. Interesting type, but not the best fit/short run. This is not very promising on the only 1:48 kit of AviS in my stash. Let's see ...

Thank you very much, recognition from a master is always very welcome and appreciated! Avis in 1:48? You can only mean Richard Lee's "Annular Plane"! A worthy project for your skills!

Great job, Roland! Looks like Avis is challenging Amodel for the title of "Putty Queen"

Tomorrow I will apply the decals. The landing gear is one of the smallest items I have tried to handle with so far- and it did break during getting it of the sprues, so I had to scratch a pair of struts from plastic card.

Hi Lukasz! Amodel? Do you know if this kit is a ex-Amodel mould? Would be interesting if course...

Like with Sova-M the sprues and boxart design is strongly reminiscent of the A-Model sets 🙂

The Lesher Teal is finished! Although it was a coincidence and not intentional that I came to this kit, in the meantime I can say: this was an educational and experiential encounter. A big weak point of the kit is the canopy: unfortunately, as you can also see in the pictures, it is a bit dull. Everything else leaves the impression of a thoroughly recommendable small and fine kit.

Wow, you converted this kit into a sweet little bird 👍 The filigree prop looks beautiful at the end (of model and project)😉
