Thank you. This was my first attempt at a lighted model, but came out well. At some point I'll try and take some photos wit the lights on.

Very cool! I have yet to try gluing fiber optics onto leds. Any advice you can give would be helpful.

Hi JD, If the fiber optic is 1mm to 1.5mm in diameter then you should be ok to hot glue them, but wait until the hot glue cools slightly first. The safest (and slowest) route is to use something non aggressive like a canopy glue, elmers kids glue. Do not use super glue as this will melt/frost the fiber optics!

Thanks Steve! Also in the first pic it looks like you drilled into the led and are able to plug a fiber directly into it, is that what I'm seeing?

Hi JD, in the first image I actually drilled into a dome that you can buy separately to snap fit over the LED itself. It's a neat solution, but you have to be careful that in bending the fiber optic to fit into the dome that you don't over stress the fiber and snap it.

The LEDs I used are SK6812 individually addressable RGBW 5V, also known as neopixel LEDs I believe. The lens' you can buy on ebay, they come in different sizes depending on what effect you want to achieve.

Man the fiber optics coming up through to light up the console is outstanding! I really gotta get busy and learn how to do that! Excellent! 👍

Trust me you need patience to do it, but it does look good. Happy to answer any questions in future - may the force be with you!
