gorbyI wonder if it's thin perspex which has been heated to form the undulations of the surface. It is possible to buy rippled perspex which does look like the surface of water.

Kit HeadleyI think that's most likely. Haircell texture clear thermoformed acrylic. Eventually I'm going to try that for a more modern sub.

Kit HeadleyThanks for reminding me that I never finished this album.
I used all Tamiya paints and I don't think I used any of them right out of the bottle. You can see in the wing root wear that there are two colors of the tan. You can see the more yellow one under the top coat there. I like mixing my own colors because you never get exactly the same color which I feel is most accurate.

Are you going to build it with the wheels fairing? I think the ICM kit does not include them.

I also want to add the wheel fairings, but I don't know how to build them from scratch. I have also thought about spare parts from other kits, but either don't know which ones could be the most similar for the Ki-10.
