Hughes 300
Prepped and ready for priming
Primer and base coat of red done
SMS Super Silver
Red parts coated in Tamiya clear red through the airbrush to make the red loo deeper.
Seats done with MIG Acrylic Cremeweiss. The manual suggested brown, but looking at all the reference photos most seemed to have cream seats. Base is Tamiya TS-66 Grey.
All parts wet sanded and ready for decals. After that will be a clear coat to seal.
Tamiya clear acrylic brushed over this decal to represent the glass covering
Decals on the egg
I hate decals
Deacals on the tail rotor
So I completely forgot to put the control panel in the cockpit before sealing the egg, so I had to crack it open, breaking the seal and all of the dried decals.
All back together. I touched up the decals with white paint and the egg with red paint.
Decided to paint the tips instead of using the decals.
Right after these photos were taken the model did a backflip onto the floor and broke to pieces. Glued it back together as best as I could. Clear coat to come and then I'll be glad to see the back of this one.

Yeah, thought I'd smash out an easy one while the final parts of the Kawasaki dry. Lots of fun so far, although taping the clear egg canopy has been a nightmare. Yet to remove the tape, but dreading what's underneath.

I have heard said that egg planes ect are for kids and not for the (accomplished) modeller but from my experience you can treat it eggactly as a "proper" build. I have uttered as many profanities with egg planes as anything else I have built!
