Land Rover Defender
A newsletter from 2012.
Week 1: played with the motor and sub-frame
Week 2: So far so good. There were a few tense moments where I nearly threw the model at the wall.
Everything kinda fits. I went a bit crazy with the paint. I tried to re-create the interior of my old land rover discovery
End of 2nd weekend work
Only a slight fitment issue. A bit of a pain getting the firewall to sit properly. There are gaps between the firewall and the side panels.
Last look at engine.
Week 3: put all the luggage on
Most important is the ammo, beer and potatoes

Butcher, your model is building up nicely. I is an interesting technique to start your weathering at this stage. Very nice.

@Villiers - I only just added grime to the silver parts to add depth. All that stuff is going to be covered by the body soon so it was a chance to paint everything before it gets hidden away. I don't have any technique bro I usually just do as I go along. I'm just a weekend hack butchering models.
@Simon -I was thinking a cliffs edge or a street corner. I did want to play around with that cracked earth texture so maybe a desert scene? I'm not sure yet. Any suggestion?
@Mona - You might be here for a while with this one lol

if you want to try crackled earth effects, a desert scenery is the best idea!- it also fits very well to the figures you`ve selected.
and also you have great possibilities with the weathering- a lot of DUST 😁
in my opinion, this vehicle belongs in an off-road scene
however, good luck with your project!!

Album info
Started on the car while waiting for the figures to arrive. Good detailing on the HobbyBoss kit, I am enjoying the build, engine and subframe has been good so far.
