The first cut is the deepest. No way back now. I know that Unobtainium GB Sells 3D printed Wheels for the Alfa Romeo, but I like to give it a try myself.
The slots are made with a 0,7mm Dental burr

Made a simple jig for keeping the axle in the center. Spokes and nipples glued with thin super glue.
First layer (20 spokes + 20 nipples) ready. Two more layers to go with. Total will consist of 60 spokes and 60 nipples and two more for the air valves. I'm a little bit more confident this will work 😉
Second layer, and again 20 spokes and 20 nipples.
The 3th and last layer spokes and nipples + air valve at the right place. All together instead of 3 pieces for a wheel it now has 125 parts. It took me about 5 hours to compleet, but time well spend in my opinion.
The remaining 3 wheels (and car) have to wait till I finished a trio of1:35 Rolls Royce Armoured cars

The standing figure is Tazio Nuvolari, a well known coureur for (amongst others) Alfa Romeo during the 30's. The sitting figure is a display of Enzo Ferrari which I hope to place in the Alfa.

they look awesome! lots of work. but beats the kit spokes by a veeeery large margin 🙂
for nipples, i guess it can be steel tubes, from needles for example. or are they fine brass tubing?

Benjamin Jäggi. For the Spokes I used 0,33mm new silver rod, for the nipples brass slide tubing o.d. 0,6mm i.d. 0,4mm. Both from Albion Alloys.
I'm eager to start with this kit, but all model building is on the back burner. I now have two 3D printed figures in 1:12 scale that will be placed at the Alfa.
And yes Spanjaard, I fully agree that its a major improvement 🙂
