Checkin' in ! What is the reason for the scratchbuilt forward and lower bombardier's compartment floor, lost parts ?

I was wondering whether or not you were checked in already Hanno! 😉
The pictures I have show a different kind of floor than GWH has and I tried to replicate that.
The pilots side panels don't have the sides underneath so I cut that away as well and then the forward part of the floor was no longer connected or very straight.
What does you references say about the interior colors of especially the second batch of Devastator?

You're right Sid, I'm late.....😄 I was'nt aware that the floorlayout was altered in later batches.
As far as the interior clour is concerned, I'm pretty sure it was interior green, as even the early references ( at least mine) seem to show that early serial production TBDs were painted like that internally. If you look at the first picture in album:
1939 Yellowwing TBD Devastator, BuNo 0318, USS Enterprise CV6 | Album by Aquilifer (1:48)
As all these birds were crouflaged after December 7th 1941, I'm sure the internal colour remained as it was.

I've put some additional interior pictures in my TBD album 1939 Yellowwing TBD Devastator, BuNo 0318, USS Enterprise CV6 | Album by Aquilifer (1:48)
From picture #61 on, the interior green is quite visible

The original TBD's were in NMF finish inside I believe, but the pilots soon found out that was not very handy with the sun and all. I remember reading late thirties they field experimented with (bronze) green and black interiors. Somewhere at the end of the colorful time they transitioned to (interior) green.

Nice pics btw! I think they are of the very early prototypes. Some slight layout changes in equipment and the old interior for the bomb aim doors. But the interior color is not as NMF as the pictures I have in my book. Forgot the title and I am not home currently. Could be lightish green..

Beautiful result Sid, right amount of slight weathering and a very skillful build create a very convincing and realistic impression ! 👍

Thank you Hanno! I made three stupid mistakes but they are hardly visible. Lucky me! Difficult kit but what a story of these aircraft!

Wonderful work Sid, can I asked witch colors did you use on this beauty.

Hi Kim, I used Mr.Paint 133 M485 Blue Grey and 134 M495 Light Grey. The rudder has been oversprayed with Gunze 42 Blue Grey.
Thanks guys!
