Well, it's been awhile since I've worked on this. Between spending time with my 2 yo grandson and other stuff. I also think part of my issue is I miss my dad even though he passed away two years ago. This model was a good link to keep him in my memory. I think I was trying to prolong that. ????
I finally took off the masking. I had to polish some spots on the canopy and add Quick Shine. There will be spots on the canopy where I messed up. Due to a fitment error on my part, the canopy wouldn't stick and kept popping off. So I used CA. (Blasphemy!!!) I know. I still have a lot to learn. There are a couple areas where the canopy crazed.
Once I finish with polishing the canopy I items left to do are to install the antennas, add the windshield wiper and the props. I plan on putting this on a simulated tarmac mount with a picture of my dad. That will come later.

I wanted to apologize to all following. I've been substantially complete for some time. I just need to install the two aerials on the pods, the windshield wiper and the props. I've been working on a ramp diorama for this. These two drawings show what I'm trying to do. My wife has been redoing the living room, so I have been doing the painting. Have had zero time to work on the model/diorama.

You probably would have guessed it / figured it out already by now... but, just in case:
Seeing what's visible (just behind the helmet) and checking on Joe Baugher's site of serial numbers, this seems to be most probably, if not certainly,
Lockheed T-33A-1-LO, c/n 580-6124, s/n 51-6792... so "buzz number" TR-792... that served with 3560th PTW.
I have a deep respect for such personal modelling projects - good luck with this!

👍 Luckily the photo provides just enough data to make this T-33 identifiable... I don't know if such training units had any special markings, but i think you can safely proceed with "TR-792" (these being the last 3 digits of this aircraft's USAF serial number). Good luck with this future build!

Yes, that's how it happens sometimes, I can understand that very well. I also have a kit in my stash that I've been carrying around unfinished for half my life. Have fun completing this special model.

Does anyone have a model lighting for dummies? I'm looking for a good beginners guide to adding lighting to my models. I can find tons of them when I investigoogle, some are more advanced some are too basic. I thought maybe someone here is in the same boat as myself and just beginning. Thanks.

I've even suggested the idea to AK for one of their Learning Series books, without any luck, so far.

I had to scrap this model. Too many mistakes, the tail was skewed, I started this 2 years ago and finally said it's not worth the frustration trying to fix all the mistakes I make 2 years ago.,

I have also a variant of the Lindberg kit in stash. But if I see the parts in the box then I start to think about the new Lukgraph kit, even if I will replace the struts by real wood.

This was my first attempt at a biplane and went at it all wrong. I have a Eduard Sopwith Camel dual limited edition and a couple of others that I'm going to do completely different.

Ok, in that case I would _not_ recommend a Lukgraph all resin kit! The statement on the box "For experienced modellers" is completely true.
The newer Eduard biplane are much better for a start start. May be the SE5a is easier then the Camel, or a Fokker D.VII because of only some rigging lines.

This is a fantastic kit. The problem I found is that effort in the cockpit is rather wasted. It sits down inside the fuselage so far, its hard to see much. And if you do a pilot, forget it. LOL I have the AF version sitting in the stash.

Yeah. I know the cockpit sits down low. But wanted to do it anyway. I need to learn how to do the details.
