Friends. I have a dilemma. There are two Dakotas flown in Antarctica that I really like. So I would appreciate your opinion on what to build.

And a 3rd vote for the Argentian! (But of course, you can always build both, one now and one at a later time!)

Thank you very much friends. It will definitely be the Argentinian one in that case.

This project is associated with many dilemmas. In the museum, the plane has a dark roof. In the black and white photos taken on snow, it is white. Does anyone have an idea where I can find more photos of Antarctica, not the museum?

Thank you very much for the information. It will definitely be white. Alex, the beaver thing is a hot topic. It is very likely that there will soon be an Argentine beaver. 🙂

Here is a nice account of this plane's journey. Apparently the Beavers are in the game...

I have fun making two identical planes. One I call "The American", the other is "The Commodore's Plane".

I need help. Please advise which colors are closest to the original. Unfortunately, the plane in the museum is not in the same condition as it was at the South Pole. I painted his look from photos, I have decal files ready, but it remains to specify the colors. The biggest doubts are the red color.

Jivko, I'm not an expert, but I would say that the red color was most probably the hi-visibility "day-glo" FS12197 which goes by the name of International Orange SCM Search: International Orange . According to lighting and conditions, from freshly painted to heavily weathered, this can be seen as a very vivid red... to a very light orange (and this is known to weather heavily). For this color, Vallejo suggests their 71.086 Light Red, Vallejo Model Air Matt, Acrylic, 17ml, while I think that some people simply use 018 Orange, Humbrol Gloss, Enamel, 50ml .
However, a very good idea to try might be Humbrol's fluorescent Fire Orange 209: 209 Fire Orange Gloss, Humbrol Fluo, Acrylic, 12ml

Alex, in some places I talk about the color RAL3024 - HUMBROL 209. What you mentioned, but this is the color of the Norwegian Sea Kings. Airfix in the MATS model manual flown in Canada talk about the HUMBROL 153, which should be the equivalent of the H-327 Gloss Red FS11136. In the old photos of the VXE-6, it also cannot determine the color unambiguously. I'm trying with the help of a software to reproduce the real colors from different photos, but I don't get a clear answer. Does anyone have an idea where I can read what colors were used for the VXE-6 planes, I assume the Argentinian used the same one. This becomes a historical study of aircraft colors. I love this game!
... I'm thinking of doing tests on everything in red that I have.

The nose is extended by 144 mm. I have no idea what the exact size is. For this, the result is random.
