4A-Inspiration: Home Territory (1970s-80s)
O'NEILL MILITARY OPERATIONS AREA (MOA)
I grew up in rural Nebraska, near the middle of the O'Neill MOA. This MOA was frequented by Air National Guard pilots from nearby local airports. Because there was very little VFR civilian aircraft in that area, and because there were few tall structures, pilots were allowed to train there as low as 500 feet above ground. This often led to a quite inspiring airshow!
