M113AS1's of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment RAAC. LRVs, MRVs Tillys (M548 Tracked Load Carriers).

I was briefly a member of the 2nd Cavalry Regiment in the late 80s and early 90s and this project will model the vehicles I operated and loved.
2nd Cavalry was then a Medium Reconnaissance Regiment whose role was to undertake medium reconaissance - reconassiance of the area between the forward edge of battle which was covered by infantry reconaissance (approx 5-6km) out to the area covered by SASR patrols performing long range and strategic reconnaissane (approx 80km out).
The medium reconaissance regiment undertook mounted and dismounted OPs (observation posts), route reconnaissance, covering force and screening operations, raids, escort duties and generally tear assing around looking for the shit.

One evolution we undertook every couple of days was a re-sup - a re-supply. At a resup the squadron's support troop in their M548 tillys would form a column of 3 tillys. The first tilly was fitted out as a mobile Q store, the other 2 tillys carried POL (petrol, oil, lubricants), water rations and ammo.
These POL Tillys would have 2 massive flexible fuel blivets each - I'm not sure how bnig they were probably 2-4000 litres per blivet.
The blivets would sit on the floor of the Tilly and runnin accross the load bed, between the 2 blivets was a platform moounted on the side walls of the load bed. This platform carried a pump - made by Lombadini which would pump the diesil, one hose to each side of teh tilly.
The back of the tilly was sectioned off accross the load bed to the width of jerry cans.
You'd pull up next to the tillys, run the fuel hose to the fuel cap on your vehicle and then you'd pass your empty water and POL jerrysas well as any rubbish and anything else to go back to the Tilly crew.
The Tilly crew would give you full jerrys as well as rations, ammo, new codes and/or crypto fills
The whole evolution would take maybe 5-10 minutes for a sabre troop of 5 vehicle.
If the crews or troop needed anything from the Q store tilly they stop there on the way through and there'd be a medic available in case anyone needed to see one.
These evolutions would normally be run at night with light discipline - i.e. no white light and minimal red light when absolutlely necessary,.

I'm thinking I might create a vignette of a resup operation - a tilly, an MRV (Medium Recon Vehicle) and an LRV (Light Recon Vehicle).
