Personal Interest:
This model represents the F-15C Eagle flown by the USAF and ANG in 1996. The F-15C was the primary aircraft assigned to enforcing the no-fly zone. Many USAF and Air National Guard units rotated in and out of the theater during Operation Southern Watch. I selected a F-15C of the 33rd FW from Eglin AFB, Florida, to honor the memory of the 13 airmen from that unit who were killed in the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing, an event that occurred in the rotation just before my tour in Saudi Arabia.
