RandoI'm displaying my canopy closed as well, can't say I've experienced good fit with it. It's too "squat." There's a step between it and fuselage where it meets at the top, and steps on the side that make it not flush with the canopy walls. Have had to do a lot of sanding to make it look flush

At least I had to agree with you. Just clued the canopy to the fuselage and as long as the fit of the wind shild is okay, the canopy don´t fit any longer with part #13 glued inside. In my case it ended with a little crack in the canopy.

Christian BruerWhen I got a photo showing a Pz. I towing a Ju-87, possibly on an airfield in North Africa, I definetely want to build that scenery. The Pz. I is a mix of parts from S-Model Pz. I Ausf. A and B, the Ju-87 is Italeri. I bought some Quickboost add on parts which are designed to fit the Airfix kit, but with slightly modifications they although fit quite well the Italeri kit.

I got the SSMODEL Pz.I tracks. So far as can be see still in their printing frame they are looking quite nice.

Christian BruerThank you Tom and Alec. SSMODEL only has a shop at AliExpress. I was a bit hesitant to order there, because there is a lot of rumor about piracy products over there. But once I did not found something similar I want to order from them I registered and ordered at AliExpress. Payment was easy via PayPal and delivery absolutely in time. I also ordered one of the SSMODEL vehicles, Marder III Sd.Kfz.139 SSMODEL 1:72 72725. The details are top notch, but the printing quality in between excellent and poor. The chassis, tracks and single parts are excellent, but the gun mount and gun shield are not so nice. The gun mount is warped and the gun shield has a lot of steps on the inner and outer side. It also differs from the instructions where gun mount and shield are shown as separate parts but it was delivered as a single part. That makes it even more complicated to solve the issues. But I think I will give it a try for another scale 1/72 kit in the future.

Meanwhile I have added a few more details like the steering gear and tilger for the flaps. I also painted and reworked the SSMODEL tracks. They need a slightly adjustment to fit well the the S-Model Pz.I. MOre photos sooon when I start the paintwork.

Bruce HuxtableHi Eric, does this have any interior? May I suggest that the external gear is stored above the water level? I'm looking forward to seeing how you incorporate this beast into a diorama scene.

Erik TorpNo, it comes without an interior. If it had all hatches would have been wide open😉 Regarding the stowage this was just a test fit. I´m not happy with it, but I have an idea about how to make it look better. However, that is for a future update.

Erik TorpYes, the net is home made. I start with a piece of brass wire of the desired length and basically wrap it in Cleenex tissue. One tissue is easily split into four sheets so I apply as many as needed. Each layer is soaked with diluted PVA glue. I then use tea leafs to sprinkle the net for texture. First layer is of a very fine Earl Grey tea. When dry I give it a coat of "spray can glue" and sprinkle some herbal tea leafs in a more modest pattern to not over do the texture. Then the net has to dry for several days due to the long drying time of the glue. Then I add a base coat of paint and super glue it to the vehicle. When dry the brass wire makes it easy to form the net to the vehicle. Add some straps and finished. It is a bit of a messy process but it is really easy to make.
The bergens are a mix of Real Model, Legend and Verlinden. They are all from my spare part box.

Erik TorpFinished! This took a bit longer then planned, but it was fun. I don´t think any bits in this build is younger than 20 years, so they have been slumbering in the stash for a while. The figures from Dragon are a bit «blury» when it comes to casting, which makes them a bit hard to paint, but I´m happy about how they turned out. The AAV is showing its age compared to the newer ones from Hobbyboss, but IMHO it is still possible to make a nice model from an old kit.
