In my opinion, this plane is the most beautiful aircraft ever. To this day, I have never seen any aircraft that comes close to the beauty and stature of this aircraft. I made this model for the first time in 2015, and despite my inexperience at that time, I covered it with Bare Metal Foil and participated in our association's competition. Despite all its beauty, my model could not place because it was my first competition and all the mistakes I made. This time I built the plane as a gift for a friend. Leaving the BMF application to the 48 scale model (coming soon), I applied Gunze gloss black, which I used on the nose and wings, as well as primer for the entire aircraft, and 4 different shades of metallic paint, each from the AK Extreme Metal brand: Chrome, Dark Aluminum, Polished Aluminum and Titanium. Unfortunately, since these paints wear off very quickly even by touching them, I had to apply a thin gloss varnish for protection. While even BMF could not fully provide the well known mirror-like surfaces on the units of this aircraft used for demonstration purposes, I was aware that metallic paint would not even be as successful. But I still managed to get a pretty shiny metallic surface. As for my opinions about the kit: It is quite old, dating from 1984, and I guess after hundreds of thousands of prints, the mold started to have problems. Apart from the usual flash and roughness problem at the part/frame junction points, sinking plots was clearly visible in important places, especially in a few places in the upper part of the wings. Puttying and sanding them was an inevitable task. However, the biggest problem with this kit was the engine/wing junction points. I had this problem with the 2015 model as well, this time too. At this point, serious leveling, putty and sanding are required. When I glued the BMF coated parts in 2015, the irregularity at these points was the most glaring mistake of the model. Even if you install painted engines in the same way, there is no escape from leveling. But this time, serious damage occurs in the area and the thin joints crack easily while working. An alternative is to mount the engine on the wing before painting it. This option will not be preferred as it makes it almost impossible to paint the engines correctly afterwards. After all, I couldn't complete it without errors this time either, so I hope I can find a method to prevent this from happening in 48 scale. Other than that, there is not much problem with the kit. The cockpit interior and seats are very simple, but it doesn't matter as long as the top covers are not open. It is also possible to find PE-sets for those who will make the covers open. Since I love this plane so much, I ignore the mistakes on it. I hope you don't mind this situation too much. After all, it is not an easy thing to make a model produced with the technology of 40 years ago in today's standards.
