Bruce HuxtableVery nice overall, but the neatly painted tartan is the high-light for me. Can you elaborate on how you did this, please?

Thomas E.@ Bruce - Cf. the instructions of Miniart 35165 "British Officers", here on Scalemates. On the backside of the packaging there is a piece of tartan as an template. I have cut it out and soaked it in lukewarn water. After a few minutes I have rubbed the wet cardstock away from the backside carefully. So I have got a thin printed foil with the tartan on it. I have glued the foil with white glue on the front of the figure (not water soluble!) and used a clothespin to get the round form. After drying: Matt varnish took away the shine. The backside of the kilt is only blue and green colour - nobody will see.
One problem: the cutting edges will appear white, so you have to colour them with a blue or green pencil.

Thomas E.Thank you for all the likes and the comment. The horses will be the next paintjob probably. Now they are ten. 9+1. No. 10 is a pack animal, a pink(!) horse made by Tamiya. Every little girl would be happy. I think it will get some reddish black-brown colour ...

The site is also in swedish and english language. There is a search engine. You have to type in the finnish word poro for reindeer. There is also the role model of the old man and the reindeer (Toro model #35F80).

Thomas E.Swedish volunteers had brought the "Schwarzlose"-MG to Finland in Winter War (talvisota). So the Finnish troops have some of these weapons still in the "Fortsetzungskrieg" (jatkosota). The heads with the moustache will be changed for heads sculpted by Roger Saunders (Hornet). Maybe Italians with M33-Helmets ...
