Starting stronger since the A350 catastrophe. Cockpit sub assembled with the Eduard Detail set, painted and weathered. Couldnt take more pictures of the progress due to the details being so small πŸ₯΄πŸ₯΄

My goodness, that cockpit looks stunning! Are you sure it's not 48 scale?

Thanks Michael!

I could have hoped ThomasπŸ˜…πŸ˜…. It would have made my life way easier. Though the PE details helped a lot

Engine almost done, except for the PE parts. I'm amazed of how it's all turning out tbh, didn't expect this great finish on such small parts

Looking good πŸ‘ the instrument's look good, did you get the clocks to sink in with softener ??
I have this one to build next after my lAR-80.
Thanks for uploading πŸ˜πŸ‘

Hey MrD thanks! Well Im sorry I can't help you with that because I used the photo etched and plastic instrumentation provided by the kit from Eduard. Sure someone with more experience with Tamiya decals can help you with that in here.

Looking forward to see how yours turns out!

Thanks πŸ‘πŸ‘
May look into the PE kit.
Belts come out nice, do you glue PE direct to plastic or do you have to prep first ?
Coming on nicely πŸ‘Œ

I use cyanoacrylate for the PE parts, just a little amount sticks okay, although at this scale there's some parts that are way to hard to make them stick and my not so skilled application of the glue leaves a lot of residue on the model. I try to clean up the best I can but it's quite challenging sometimes

If you want to build a good looking cockpit with the extra detail I recommend you the PE for sure. But if your main goal is the exterior and not to focus so much on the interior the PE kit doesn't include a lot of things for the exterior, and the tamiya kit I think gives a really nice looking base cockpit

With half the plane chipped, I'm leaving for the week. There's still a lot of work to do regarding chipping and weathering to blend the paints. I'm having so much fun, and applying new technics for me that I'm sure I'll use in future models.

Thanks Miguel πŸ˜ƒπŸ‘
I've only been building again as an adult for just over a year, so the advice helps me improve.
And as l said will probably be my next build.
Good luck with everything Miguel.. enjoy πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Chipping and decals done. I'm sure this chipping is not going to be of the liking of many, but I wanted to try different techniques and achieve a heavy worked on plane who could not get a paint job in a lot of time. I really like the result I achieved, even though it may seem extreme, I think it adds a lot of personality to the model, and also adds some history to it. Let me know your opinions on this and what would you have done differently with this chipping process

It fine, I've seen much heavier worked model than this..?
In reality they looked beat up from war n work... Especially the Corsair.
Best to build a model to how you like it.
I put all my models on a stand with wheels down , some people will cringe at that.🀣 But l like it personally, as l see more of the work I've done.
I'm yet to start wearing.... As quiet new to the game and learnt.
I think you done nice job, well done πŸ‘Œ πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

Thanks Mr D. I'm with you in this one. The best thing about this hobby is to do things as one likes. At the end of the day, the one who's going to be looking at them is us 😁😁
