Revell Bf109G-10
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/3/0/1/41301-10189-16-pristine.jpg)
Built by my son, now it's my turn for painting. Primer added for checking the surface...
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/3/0/2/41302-10189-78-pristine.jpg)
Black wash to darken the panel lines prior to painting. For this, Revell Aqua thinned with alcohol is not a good idea 🙂 The supercharger intake scoop is the only part that required filler.
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/3/0/3/41303-10189-63-pristine.jpg)
The kit goes together very well, no trouble.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/3/0/4/41304-10189-92-pristine.jpg)
Panel lines and surface detail are very crisp. Nice little kit for the money.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/3/0/5/41305-10189-87-pristine.jpg)
Pre-shading again with Revell Aqua black thinned with water/alcohol. My airbrush dosen't like this mixture.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/3/0/6/41306-10189-27-pristine.jpg)
RLM76 added to the sides and lower surfaces. Used for highlighting on uppper surfaces.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/3/0/7/41307-10189-15-pristine.jpg)
Pre-shading third attempt, getting better. 🙂
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/3/0/8/41308-10189-26-pristine.jpg)
That's how I wanted it to look like, yay! 🙂
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/4/5/9/42459-10189-65-720.jpg)
RLM81/83 added. Paint was a tad thick for mottling, so I got speckles. A wash might fix that.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/4/6/0/42460-10189-58-720.jpg)
RLM81/83 added on fuselage, wing masking is next.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/7/5/2/42752-10189-63-720.jpg)
RLM76/81/83 camo finished
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/7/5/3/42753-10189-74-720.jpg)
Mottling done again with the Aztek fine nozzle. Speckles are somewhat exaggerated by the digcam, will disapper after treatment with light blue chalk
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/7/5/4/42754-10189-29-720.jpg)
Came out nice, coat of Future is next, then decals
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/8/3/4/42834-10189-45-720.jpg)
Tamiya tape cut with a #11 Xacto blade
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/8/3/5/42835-10189-64-720.jpg)
Base coat of RLM66 and top coat of RLM83 applied to canopy - will be attached and blended in with white glue.

Sieht gut aus bis jetzt! Die G-10 steht bei mir auch auf der Warteliste ganz oben.

Nice work, Burkhard JR !
And I'm sure the paint job will become as good as the construction job ! 🙂

@Bill: Thanks, message conveyed! 🙂
Just back from biz travel, hope to make some progress on the paint job in the next few days.

Fit is excellent, with a few minor eceptions: Fit of the canopy seems to vary, can be solved with careful dry-fitting and white glue. The supercharger air intake scoop flange is a tad undersize, the sole place were filler is needed. That's why it is such a good kit for starters 🙂
The only real gripe for me is that the propeller is undersized.

The undersized propeller and supercharger intake are known flaws of this kit, Quickboost offers replacement for both parts.

Uuiuu, that looks nice! Its the Revell one? Have you scraped new panellines on the wings?

Revell kit out-of-the-box, original canopy. The supercharger intake scoop was drilled hollow but that's all. Panel lines were only restored were my son had sanded them down along the fuselage seams, everything else was left as is. No filler used on the wing roots, fit was perfect there.

It looks very nice, Burkhard! What is that stuff you applyed on the canopy? The wing to fuselage fit is very nice at this kit!
