Finland at war
Commenti
Do you build, or have you built military models – for example, planes, ships, combat vehicles, artillery guns, military personnel, or dioramas – that replicate the weapons, military units, battles, anti-tank traps, and so on – relevant to the Finish War (1939 – 1945), including the Winter War, the "Continuation" War, or the Lapland War?
Would you like to have your model creations published by a company with international distribution? We also wish to point out that all are welcome – professionals and hobby enthusiasts alike: It is your models we are seeking to publish in photos, not your experience.
If these questions apply and you are interested in finding out more, I would very much like to get in contact with you. I represent an established publishing company within the area of military history, with special focus on all aspects of the Second World War, which is now expanding into the area of model books with international distribution.
Just now, in connection with the celebration of Finland's 100 year anniversary, we are going to publish the first part of a new series we call "Models in History". Part 1 is titled "Finland at War (1939 – 1945)". Six months later, this will be followed by Part 2: "The Battle for Normandy (June – August 1944)". Our intent is to continue releasing 1–2 new titles in the series every year. The series will primarily consist of contributions made by model builders, but will also be directed toward everyone who has an interest the relevant period, history or models and model building, per se. Our thought is that every model featured under a given Part's title will be accompanied by a brief historical text relevant to the model in question. Such texts may be provided by the model builder, or the publisher's staff editors, or both.
The text of every series' Part will be bi-lingual. The book will be between 128–144 pages, printed in 4-C. And every series' model entries will have 1–4 spreads. The contributions of all participating model builders will naturally be accompanied by their name and photo, as well as a short bio containing information they are free to choose. Remuneration may also become standard.
In short, we would now like to come in contact with all model-builders out there, who would like to participate in a new model-book series.
