A Model from 1965!

I built this 1:72 Revell kit in 1965. It was a Nieuport 17, but I wanted to modify it into a Nieuport 27, since there was no kit of that version back then. Using a few reference photos and line drawings, I made the flat sided fuselage round and added strips of stretched sprue for longerons, made all new tail pieces and tail skid from hard balsa and added a Lewis gun to the top wing and reshaped the ailerons. I never put the rigging wires on it until this past weekend. I had also reversed the colours on the rudder so I fixed that as well. The RAF roundels were from some other kit and the code letters were as well. The 'N' on the rudder was added at the same time as the rigging. Not too bad for a 53 year old model. How it survived all those years is hard to imagine.
