Thanks again Alec K! I have some progress with my scratchbuild since yesterday:
-built(finally) the dreaded compressor cylinder heads,
-added air brake cylinder with rods to both rear wheels and
-made front wheels steerable.
Now it's time for the body...

Well, I built the trailer into 3 sub-assemblies: compressor, body and frame.But...
Both the compressor and the engine have at least 2 main colours...
And while the engine is glued to the frame, the frame needs to be painted in a third colour...
Further down the line- inside and outside colour of body is 2 different shades of green(grassy vs dark)...
I love this hobby 🙂

Thanks Markus!
Alec K-I hate masking, so it will be a balance between air- and paintbrush.I'm still not aware of the ratio, though...

I feel your pain, so do I (hate masking). Nice sludge wash and weathering hides a lot of sins... 😄

I don't think that too much ivy will be needed, if any. Looking forward to the painting report 👍

Thanks Bart,Alec K!
Last Saturday the compressor slipped from my hand and fell to the floor, ending up in pieces...
I'll repair it next weekend-if my mojo is still there- and will declare it finished.

You can paint some damage too, you don't have to drop it... 😉
All kidding aside, that is a real bummer... hope you succeed in repairing this beauty...

Yeah, the moment my anger started fading, I realized now I can paint some parts that were quite challenging before...There's always a bright side😉

Sorry to hear that. When something like that happens, it's best to go do something else, or meditate 😄

Sorry to hear that Angel, but I'm sure you'll get a handle on it when the oh shit and anger is gone!

Wonderful work Angel! I also have ZIF-55 in 35th scale, but mine was resin kit. Anyway beautiful machine. Also wheels are a bit too big, you should use wheels from ZIS-3 canon.

Thanks Dmitri,Ingo!
Yes, Dmitri, that was a "love from first sight".
I was given an Bulgarian Army Engineer's Manual from the 1970's and there it stood.
Then a friend of mine-who works with the Army-did a walkaround for me at an Army's Depot of probably the last ZIF-55 in Bulgaria and I used the 30+ pictures as a refference.
You might be right for the wheels, but what is done is done 🙂
