Excited about this set. Makes the Eduard set I put in my F-14 look simple.

Lots of PE! Wheel bays, jet pipes, weapons rails and metal undercarriage.

Never done a resin cockpit, so I'm hoping that going big the first time is a little easier.

Nose wheel bay, no detail yet.

Scribing tool. An old Tamiya paint brush with a needle superglued in the end.

I built the RF-4E as a teenager. I'm watching this for sentimental reasons but am actually interested in that Flightpath set.

Welcome all. Get comfortable, this is going to take a while. I'm going to tick over on this while I also finish a couple of other projects (1:72 Gannet, 1:48 Eagle and a RN FG.1).
Patrick, they had the RF-4E too. I scratched my head for a bit and chose this one.

If I remember correctly, you had to saw off the fuselage in front of the cockpit to add the recce parts.

Not that this was going quickly anyway, but all projects are on hold as I'm packing everything up. The wife and I are in the process of buying a new house, big move is September 27th, but we need to sell our place too. New place has a great space for a man-cave, so for the first time in my life I am going to have a work bench for modelling. For me, the most exciting part of the move.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty excited at the prospect of having a bench and not just a tv table under the stairs.

So now you're modeling like Harry Potter did before venturing into magic? 😉

Found this kit in a local model shop and thought for $30CAN, it's a bit of fun. Going to try my hand at scribbling and removing the raised panel lines. I found the Flightpath PE for the Revell kit, but pretty sure it's designed to go in the later kit, not this, going to make it fit though!
