Let the cutting and grinding begin!

Because of the overall panel lines, match with the decals, better outer wings and the available Aires wheel bays, the Revell wing was chosen.

Even though designed specifically for this kit, both the inside of the wings and the resin part needed extensive thinning.

But hey, it fits!

This is kind of the parts cocktail planned.

And this is the reason for not simply choosing the Revell kit... Although the lines and rivets are awesome, the cockpit profile is just too high, resulting in a hunchback stance.

Compared to the Hasegawa kit, the contours up to the radome match (the radome itself is horrible off though!) but the gun area is more voluptuously bulged.

The difference between the Revell and Hasegawa outer wings. The Revell ones are so much more refined while looking sturdier.

Still fumbling around with the lower fuselage sections....

Put my attention to the outer wings with separated slats for now.

Closed some inspection panels which are only on one side, contrary to how Academy molded them.

Wanted to fill in some panel lines with glue goo, not the ribs of my fingerprints! 🙁

After fumbling around with some ideas, setups and paints, this build is slowly turning into my main focus right now.
