Sherman M4A3

Used parts and pieces of the eduard M4A3 photo etch accessories which turned out great for the front fenders and the .30 MG barrel. Photo etch is a struggle, but worth the effort in some areas of high visibility.

Took photo's without the .50 cal on top, sad mistake, but had the camera set up for another Sherman shoot.

On future build will be adding a little battle damage, just because its fun and adds character to the kit.

Camera did not pickup the aftermarket "Barrel Depot" 105mm barrel rifling. Will attempt to capture it on future photo's.

J's work boxes are very cool and fun to build. Add a little colour and interest to a mono painted kit. Sadly, I believe they are out of production.

Archer U.S. 6th A.D. M4A3E8 fine transfers worked great, except for one "L" lifted off. Can you tell where its missing???

I do love the Archer fine transfers, and have a number of the "A PAPER DOLL" sets in the stash. Will use them for all future Sherman builds until I run out. Rye Field Models liked the Paper Doll so much they have it as an option on their "Easy Eight" kit.

Turret grab handles scratch built, but liked the symmetry of the results.

The kit does not come with the Duckbill tracks. They are from my friend Bill's Academy kit, he very much dislikes the rubber band tracks.

Very convincing weathering Logan! Kudos to you! Oh, and BTW, the missing L is covered with mud....wouldn't have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it.

Album info
Tamiya Sherman M4A3 105mm Howitzer Kit #35251 with Eduard Photo etch (35 369), Archer U.S. 6th Armored Division M4A3 Sherman decals, (AR35145) that don't match the kit, but I like them so went with them. Depot metal barrel. Scratch built grab handles and used Tamiya XF-62 paint with pigment from various companies. Fun kit to build.
