It seems that this panel line on the nose is supposed to stay so I had to rescribe after filling it. Used the occasion to rescribe rivets with a needle tip so that they look like the rest. Also trying masking liquid on its own for the first time, fingers crossed. 

Trying out "colourful" blackbasing. 

I was a bit heavy handed with my blending coats, so most of the base tones are gone. 

Next stops, chipping and decals. 

Hairspray chipping is tricky (C08 as undercoat, random hairspray)! Nose painted with C62, next is invasion stripes and then decaling. Kinda nervous about applying the checker pattern on the nose. 

Invasion stripes in progress, messed up a measurement somewhere so the outer band will need fixing. Also the nose checker decals went down 90% right as they were slightly too big for the cowling. Some painting hopefully will be enough to correct the bigger problems. 

Decaling underway. After doing the stripes, I postshaded some more with XF-4, 62 and 27 to try and regain some tonal variation. Hopefully, that will show better on the final pics.
