How did you create the dirt/soot on the white stripes? Any particular tool?

Superb work down to every last detail and paint-effect! 👍 Almost unbelievable it´s "just" 48-scale... 🙂

Thanks so much everybody! 😄
The realistic black finish was the biggest challenge here (closely followed by the rigging). I really tried to avoid toy-like look of the high contrast black/white scheme.
Treehugger, the weathering of the finish, white stripes included was done using oils, "Oilbrushers" (Ammo) to be precise. In some places I also used chipping fluid and the light mist of Tamiya Smoke (I think it was...), which I then partially removed with a brush moistened with water.

The black paintjob looks more interesting than many camo types. Very good job.

Your attention to detail is well noted. A true work of fine scale modelling to be sure. 👍 🙂

Still just stunning, this is by far the best black finish I have seen on a model plane so far, amazing result!

I really like the subject. It's fun to see such an old airplane with a loadout as big as this one. Also, amazingly good craftmanship!

I read somewhere that the Swordfish was the plane responsible for sinking the most tonnage in WWII, for the Brits I',m assuming. Beautiful work as well.

Album info
And here's the Swordfish with split personality - part of it wants to hide in the night, in it's stealthy black cloak and the other part screams: "Look at me!", with full on invasion stripes.
Hope you like it...
