Thanks James...!
@Roland: Really...? Nice...! This is sometimes good for my modeling mojo to build another model than my favorite scale and aviation kits. A great project to improve my AB skills.

Thanks Clifford and Spanjaard...! @Spanjaard...no, this kit is just an in between build just to experience with some weathering techniques. I am not building a particular model, such as the museum U-boot in Laboe Germany.

That is looking just amazing Jos. Do's not look like it was to far out of your comfort zone. LOL.

Thanks Clifford, Erik, Neuling and Nathan for your kind words! I try many weathering techniques, applied a wash and pin wash today.
@Clifford...the base is a black primer, with Black-Basing I airbrushed a mix of H71 and H47 from Gunze on it, then I applied chipping liquid and highly diluted XF-63 German Gray from Tamiya on top. I slightly worked the deck with a small brush to create the chip effect, and finally a Dark Brown wash from MIG on top.

Until seeing this build I had never even considered 1/144 scale submarine kits... but I'm totally convinced now! Your paintwork is exceptional Jos👍
