Typhoon Mk.Ib - Hasegawa - 1/48
Commenti
Album info
Hello,
This is my Typhoon "Tear drop Canopy", from Hasegawa (1/48).
When this kit came out, more than 20 years ago, it's was probably the best Typhoon all scales. But for now, I' would say that this kit is below the actual standards (like the last Tempest from Eduard). There is a few flaw and touchy parts in this kit, that makes the building not so easy (the problem with the cockpit/fuselage part is well known, but still difficult to overcome, I' found.) When building this kit, you should consider fitting the different lights (nav and landing ) before the painting, since the fitting is poor and it needs to be corrected with putty. My stencils were also getting old, with an annoying tendency to fall in multiple parts.... I' should have use an aftermarket sheet.
The cockpit is very basic, a resin Add-on is probably worth to be use.
Anyway.... surely not the kit of the year for me, but I' had this "classical" in my stash for a while, and wanted to do it before the Eduard Tempest.
Thanks for looking.
